Hand in!!!
The hand in went really well, I was so relieved to finally finish with no rushing about or stressing. I handed in everything on time and am now even more anxious about the results!

Visual Equations
It took me a while to come up with a concept for this project. I wanted to steer clear of the obvious opposites such as black/white or male/female so I thought hard about how I could interpret the brief. I came across an interesting article about beauty traditions around the world and I really took at interest to it. The idea of how beauty can be in the eye of the beholder is highlighted by various cultures. I decided to base my series on western beauty vs. those around the world. I found many visions of beauty that to me felt strange, for example the Maori tribe consider a tattooed bottom lip and chin to be the epitome of beauty. However when I looked into Western beauty I found it just as shocking. It was really interesting to research our unusual conceptions of beauty.

War On Want
We had a woman come in to uni from a charity called War On Want. She spoke to us about their aims and what they are currently working towards. I learnt so much that I can't believe I hadn't known before...I left feeling quite strongly about the issues within the fashion industry. The fact that really hit me what that sweat shop workers can earn as little as 8p an hour! She spoke about how War On Want hope to raise awareness in those aged 20-30 and this is where we came in. The information from then on was quite vague but I know will we receive the brief after our hand in.
